Finally, F1 event is here!!!
Last Friday, I got the opportunity to go to F1 site, as we were involved in Singapore Tourism Board's organised charity event. It was really an eye-opener for me, since this was the first time I got to go onsite. To be honest, without the free pass, I believe I wouldn't want to pay to go inside there.
Reaching there is a problem. Everywhere is CONGESTED! Due to heavy traffic jam, we had to get down the car and start walking from Concourse building. It was not really that far though, maybe about 10 minutes' walk. But our weather here is really humid lor, even when it's during evening time...=( Within half an hour, all of us were already sweating and feeling sticky. Lucky the rain didn't come and join in the fun, if not lagi worse. Not to mention walking in the hot blazing sun in the afternoon time.
Luckily, the event was held in the Sky Suite, which was air-conditioned. After the charity event, we walked around and experienced the atmosphere that surrounded us. We watched the F1 racers going through 2 practice sessions, first around 6 plus in the evening, and 2nd round at 930pm. Of course, we didn't got the chance to see the racers face to face, which was a pity. There were quite a lot of people, but enough space to maneuver around. Maybe it was still early, or that most people will arrive only on Saturday.
During their practice sessions, the noise was really overwhelmingly loud, and I had to wear ear plugs to protect my ears. It was a spectacular sight though, being able to watch onsite, rather than on TV.
Around 10 plus, we decided to call it a day, as we were really tired. We walked back again to Concourse, where we got a cab (lucky us) and went back to our hotel before departing for home.
It's an experience I would remember. :)
